We offer Birth Doula Services in the Oakland and Berkeley areas of the East Bay. We are a doula partnership meaning we interview together and are hired as a team. Through several prenatal visits we help you prepare for your birth by imparting valuable information designed to help you birth in awareness, confidence and joy.
We spend significant time with you prenatally getting to know you, sharing pertinent information and answering questions. We remain with you during your entire birth experience providing massage, comfort techniques, guidance, support, position suggestions and assisting you to stay well fed and hydrated so you may remain focused and centered while giving birth. We support your vision of birth whatever that looks like for you.

More About Our Doula Services:
During pregnancy we can offer information and education about labor and birth, ways to prepare yourself and what you might expect as labor moves forward. During labor itself, we provide a calm and reassuring presence, assist with informed consent questions in hospital and advocacy of your choices, as well as assistance with comfort measures and relaxation techniques. This includes massage, visualization, hot/cold therapy and assistance with guided breathing.
Additionally, we can interpret suggestions from medical care givers and remind you of your birthing preferences. We especially remind you to eat, drink and use the restroom often to allow the physiological function of birth to unfold. We can normalize birth for you, providing reassurance and loving guidance along the way to remove the uncertainty of this experience for you both.
There is a Doula for Everyone:
The cost of a doula reflects experience, individual knowledge, on-call availability for your birth, the time we spend with you prenatally and during your birth (which can be up to 24 hours for first time parents) and the time we spend with you postpartum. "Chemistry" with a doula plays a big role and when searching for a doula we recommend interviewing at least 3 people before making your decision. Birth is an intimate experience and you really want to feel comfortable with your doula and really like your doula's personality, philosophy and support style. Knowledge and experience are also important factors to inquire about when looking for a doula and a really great doula is worth every penny!
